Ken Krall is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY in 1977. During the many years working in kitchens he shared the same frustrations everyone has with the cardboard cutter boxes of film and foil, found in every foodservice operation. The cardboard boxes got wet in kitchens and became breeding grounds for bacteria. Sharp metal blades exposed outside the boxes were a constant source of cuts to the hands and arms.
In 1989 Ken, using a simple, much safer and sanitary design, applied for and received a US utility patent. The Kenkut dispenser was born.
In 1990 Ken licensed his patent to Tablecraft Products Co. Tablecraft is a major small wares and tabletop supplier to the industry. Since that time over 250,000 KENKUT Dispensers have been sold worldwide as KENKUT and private labels: Sysco and Edward Don.
In 2009 the all new and improved Kenkut 3 was introduced at the National Restaurant Show in Chicago. Kenkut 3 is a major improvement in features and benefits.
Ken continues to work occasionally as a caterer and is the prime mover at Chefmall Store, an internet based company specializing in unique products, many developed by chefs such as Tucker BurnGuard, Ergo Chef Knives, and more.
